Bluebirds

Children at this age are very social beings and seek to find their place in the group. Children begin to seek acceptance by their peers and develop a positive self-image as a member of a community of peers. With this in mind, we provide an environment that nurtures social skills and encourages confidence and positive self-esteem. We use a hands-on approach to learning, where the children are active participants in small-group discussions and activities. Through active participation, children learn to work in groups and develop a sense of belonging and a shared excitement for learning. In the Bluebird room, the children learn early literacy skills, 1:1 correspondence, simple addition and subtraction using manipulatives. Art activities focus on process over product.
