Made us feel welcome

As parents welcoming our first child during onset of the COVID19 pandemic, we were incredibly nervous about what childcare would look like for our daughter when it was time for us to return to work.  We knew going into parenthood that choosing the right childcare center was an important decision for our family, however we did not expect that we would not only need to make the consideration from a growth and development perspective, but also how well a childcare provider could adapt to unknown health and safety conditions not experienced previously.  The staff at Elizabethtown Childcare Center (ECCC) made every effort to make us feel comfortable and even though parents could not go into the building, the Inchworm teachers went above and beyond to keep us informed through frequent messages (and adorable photos!).  We are extremely thankful to all the teachers and staff who cared for our daughter, and so many other children from the community, during a difficult season of life for families.  Our daughter has attended the center since summer of 2020 and continues to thrive through the engaging and thoughtful activities that the teachers and the center provides.  She loves experiencing programs such as Music with Mr. Ben, Doughnuts with Dad, Muffins with Mom, Papa Tater, Grandpa Bubbles, and seeing the animals from Forgotten Friend Reptile Sanctuary.  She also takes every opportunity to share with us (in extensive detail) all the special activities that her teachers developed or the silly things that she did with all her best friends from her “school”.  Through all that she has experienced during her four years at the center, we are amazed at the growth in her social skills, confidence, and creativity.
Our son joined his sister at ECCC in early 2023, and while he (thankfully) doesn’t have to deal with some of the same COVID related challenges as our daughter, we still see the same care, attention, and affection from his teachers and staff.  A full classroom of two-year-olds certainly brings a high level of energy, but it is apparent to us (again, through daily communication and adorable photos!) that the teachers embrace that energy and use it to help each child learn and develop.  Our son particularly enjoys the STEM activities, learning how to communicate basic needs through sign language, and getting to express his creativity through multiple avenues.  Even at an early age, we feel fortunate to see him learn social skills (sharing is still a work in progress…) that will help him develop into a child that cares for others and learns to work as part of a group.
Overall, we feel incredibly thankful (and a little bit relieved) that we made the right decision regarding where to send our children and we highly recommend ECCC to others!

Great place to work!

I am very comfortable working at Elizabethtown Child Care Center. The age groups I work with are infants and toddlers. Things I enjoy most about working with children are seeing them grow and develop new skills and skills that they need in life. Their smiles, giggles, and carefree attitudes also are rewarding for me. The other teaching staff and I work well together. I feel and believe that I am a valued part of the team overall. The director is very supportive, respectful, helpful, and is a good listener. She has checked in with me to see how things are going in the classrooms and told me she is available if I need assistance or have questions. The office staff is very supportive and helpful, respectful, and listen when communicating with them. The parents that I interact with are understanding and appreciative, and I therefore feel comfortable communicating with them in person and through Procare.
